Our Story

Merchant 3114 began with a hook, a spool of thread, and a verse from Proverbs.

"She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar." (Prov. 31:14)

That image of a woman who creates, provides, and brings beauty from her hands — that's the heart of everything made here. The name Merchant 3114 is a quiet reminder to pursue godly wisdom in entrepreneurship, and to let the work of these hands mean something.

Every piece in this shop is hand-crocheted using fine thread and lacework — not mass produced, not factory made. Just one maker, one hook, and a lot of intention.

What started as a love of the craft has grown into something deeper. The ILY Collection — built around the ASL hand sign for "I Love You" — connects this work to the Deaf community in a way that feels like purpose, not just product. As a former Sign Language Interpreter with a lifelong love of ASL and Deaf culture, these pieces carry meaning that goes beyond decoration. They're a way of saying something important without saying a word.

Whether you're here for a handmade home accent, a meaningful gift, or something that quietly carries love — you're in the right place.

"Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it." Ps. 90:16-17

Meet the Maker

Hi, I'm Amanda — the hands behind every piece you see here.

I've been crocheting for over 20 years, taught myself left-handed, and never looked back. What started as a way to relax and challenge my skills has become a 13-year business built on fine threadwork, lacework, and the belief that handmade things carry something mass-produced ones simply can't.

My background isn't just in crochet. I spent years as an Educational Sign Language Interpreter — signing in choirs, working alongside the Deaf community, and developing a deep love for ASL and Deaf culture. That history is woven into the ILY Collection, which was born from a genuine connection to a community I care about deeply. When someone from the Deaf community picks up one of my ILY pieces, that means everything.

When I'm not crocheting, I'm working as a graphic designer and media specialist for my church, running vintage booths at the local antique store with my family, singing in choir — vocally and in ASL — and losing myself in a good book. The Lord has blessed these hands with more creative gifts than I can keep up with, and I'm grateful for every one of them.

Merchant 3114 is based in Ringgold, Georgia — handcrafted with care, shipped with love, and made to last.

Thank you for supporting handmade artistry and the work of one maker's hands.
